Gem Lake City: Council Meeting <br />Page: 3 of 5 <br />which will be a decrease from the old garage. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and <br />seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, the Conditional Use Permit for Smith/Geller <br />garage passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Claims for November: The claims for November were discussed and authorized to pay. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember gosak, <br />motion passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Monthly Financial Reports: The City Council received and reviewed the report. There were <br />no questions from the City Council. <br />Ordinance 124 Hunting: City Attorney Trevor Oliver did the modifications to the Safety <br />Ordinance. There was discussion among the City Council members with input from Tom <br />Bolfing. The modification is the resident will get the permit to hunt deer on their property via <br />written permission to the hunter. The hunter will then get a State license and a City license. <br />The permit will be for three (3) weeks. The hunter will have an escrow account to cover any <br />violation of the permit and the City Council can then fine the hunter if there are any violations. <br />If not the money will be returned. If a hunter shoots a deer and the deer goes onto private <br />land, the hunter can retrieve the deer, but cannot bring their weapon with them. Upon motion <br />by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember Bosak, motion passes. <br />Ayes-4, Nays-1. <br />A voice vote was taken: Mayor Uzpen — no, Councilmember Bosak — yes, Councilmember <br />Lindner -- yes, Councilmember Artig-Swomley — yes, and Councilmember Rasmussen — yes. <br />Resolution 2011-13 Deer Hunting Fee: The deer -hunting fee starting 2011 will be $100.00 <br />per permit. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember <br />Bosak, motion passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />PRESENTATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Resident Tom Bolfing thanked the City Council for reviewing and rewriting the wordage for the <br />Deer. Hunting Ordinance. <br />OPEN ITEMS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley asked Mayor Uzpen when the new sign for the City of Gem <br />Lake would be done.
