CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail Citv@gemlakeMN.org <br />Minutes of Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />20 March 2012 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Gem Lake was called to order by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Gem <br />Lake City Hall meeting room. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Robert Uzpen, Councilmembers James <br />Lindner, Gretchen Artig-Swomley, Richard Bosak and Thomas Rasmussen. Members <br />of the public attending per the sign in sheet sent around the room. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />City Council Agenda: Mayor Uzpen called for additions, deletions and corrections to <br />the agenda. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swornley; and seconded by <br />Councilmember Bosak, the agenda was approved for March 20, 2012. <br />Ayes 5, Nays — 0. <br />City Council February Meeting Minutes: The February 2012 minutes were presented <br />and corrections were needed. Upon motion by Councilmember Rasmussen, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Lindner, the minutes of January 2012 were accepted with <br />corrections being made. Ayes —4, Nays — 0, Absence - 1. <br />Planning Commission February Meeting Minutes: The Planning Commission <br />February minutes were presented and no corrections were needed. Upon motion by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley, and seconded by Councilmember Rasmussen, the <br />February Planning Commission minutes were accepted. Ayes -- 5, Nays 0. <br />Planning Commission Chair Report: Chairperson Faith Kuny was absent from the <br />meeting. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Newsletter: Councilmember Artig-Swomley stated she is still trying to get information <br />from Waste Management regarding recycling in the City of Gem Lake. Information in <br />the March 17, 2012 DUI report stated that 50% of the cars pulled over did not pass the <br />sobriety test. Councilmember Artig-Swomley is looking for recommendation to write a <br />profile on residents for the newsletter. The council gave some suggestions to her. The <br />Minneapolis Star Tribune wrote an article a few weeks ago on the coyote situation in the <br />
