Docken's suggestion of a reperatory dinner theatre similar to distant Chanhassen's. Mrs. Leider suggested that the City investigate financing the landowner's assessment interest pending a more satisfactory proposal, and they agreed. We suggested several areas of potential cooperation, most notably the conflicts in contiguous zoning, and they offered to involve us directly in their impending zoning review, and are desirous of our input. Gardner suggested that an immediate consolation would be an effort on their part to maintain and improve the landscaping buffer on their side of E. Currently, the office/warehouse constructed by Roberts Development offers a test case, and a meeting has been arranged with Roberts, Gerry Urban (VH City Administrator), a concerned VH resident, and our own Fritz Magnuson on Friday, June 10, to discuss improvements. Also, the properties owned by Gerry urban, and others, along the west side of LaBore are zoned "industrial" opposite our 3 acre residential. VH is excited about the extension of LaBore Rd., and it is obvious that the potential of those properties increases dramatically should that project evolve (per Mark Haider, VH Mayor). We also discussed cooperating on the subject of bike trails, and agreed that a trail on each side of E would be desirable. They currently have a plan being formulated, and LaBore Rd. is also scheduled for a trail. Generally, the meeting was a success. The tone was clearly positive and constructive. They evidenced a sincere interest in our concerns, a channel of communication has been established with future meetings in prospect, and they have indicated a willingness to attempt to "soften" the zoning conflicts either through change or landscaping. They felt that we offered them some good ideas and genuinely appreciated our perspective. The only negative observation is that 4 of the 5 yes votes on the Fontana proposal were absent. (Also, please note that both of these meetings were called with inadequate time to publish.) Finally, for any reader dogged enough to still be with me, we all feel that it is terribly unfair that GL, as a community, is disenfranchised by an aggressive neighbor, and, we, as individuals, are required to spend so many hours defending our rights to privacy and the enjoyment of our property. It is an enormous and wholly unfair tax, and we ernestly solicit the support of the City Council.
