City of Gem Lake <br />City Council Meeting Closed Session <br />April 16, 2024 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Gretchen Artig-Swomley called the meeting to order at 8:17 p.m. Councilmembers Len Cacioppo, Jim <br />Lindner, Ben Johnson, and Laurel Amlee were present. Also present: City Attorney Kevin Beck and Acting City <br />Clerk Melissa Lawrence. <br />Closed Meeting Discussion - Performance Review / Pay Discussion Acting City Clerk <br />Mayor Artig-Swomley explained that the Council will go into a closed session to discuss the Acting City Clerk’s <br />annual performance evaluation. A summary will be provided at the next open meeting on May 21, 2024. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to close the public meeting and begin the closed session at 8:17 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to approve a roughly 7.77% ($2.50) increase based on a recent <br />professional salary study and completion of year 1 of Minnesota Municipal Clerks Academy, seconded by <br />Councilmember Johnson. Voice vote taken, all in favor, motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to end the closed session and reopen the public meeting at 8:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />Being there no further business, following a motion from Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember <br />Cacioppo, the meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, Melissa Lawrence <br /> <br />
