City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes October 16, 2018 Page 2 <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Kuny to approve <br />Resolution 2018-29, motion passes, resolution approved. <br /> <br />Claims <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Cacioppo to approve the <br />claims for October, 2018. Motion passes. Claims approved. <br /> <br />Open Items/Residents/Councilmember Comments <br />Paul Emeott – signs on Scheuneman Road need replacing, noted, signs are on order. Greg Rick, Café <br />Cravings, question about Starbucks, do they have a patio, concerns about overflow into Café Cravings <br />parking lot and patio, question about increased traffic on Hoffman Road and repair of Hoffman Road, <br />cars not stopping at the intersection of County Road E and Hoffman Road. Council response: No road <br />construction is planned for 2018 or 2019. The road will need to be repaired, maintenance has been put <br />off on Hoffman Road for a long time and it will need to be repaired but no dates have been set. The City <br />of Gem Lake has to follow state guidelines for the process of repairing a road, feasibility study, etc. <br />Acting Mayor Artig-Swomley: The City of Gem Lake has been quoted that they support the Rush Line in <br />the White Bear Press, the City does not, a resolution not supporting the Rush Line, next meeting. <br />Councilmember Kuny: Run off from the recent rains from the development on County Road E, is that <br />the cities responsibility? Mr. Gese: That is the developers’ responsibility. <br /> <br />Next Meetings/Workshop <br />November 12, 2018, workshop cancelled. A special city council meeting will be held on Tuesday, <br />October 30, 2018, 7:00 p.m., 4200 Otter Lake Road. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />Being there no further business, following a motion from Councilmember Lindner, seconded by <br />Councilmember Cacioppo, the meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, Gloria Tessier. <br /> <br />
