City of Gem Lake City Council Meeting minutes, September 20, 2016 Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Discuss S.E.H. Project plan for 2018 Comp Plan <br />Council discussed the proposed budget for the 2018 Comp Plan. Suggested that the council play a <br />bigger role to cut costs. The Council agreed that the December 12, 2016, City Council workshop, will be <br />devoted to the 2018 Comp Plan. The Council also agreed to have any comments, questions or agenda <br />items to Mr. Gese by Friday, November 4th, in order to plan for the workshop. <br /> <br />Gem Lake Sewage Treatment Ordinance (67D) <br />Attorney Kelly’s office drafted a new sewage treatment ordinance formatted using the City of <br />Maplewood’s ordinance that was passed in 2014. A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, <br />seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley to forward the proposed Gem Lake Sewage Treatment <br />Ordinance (67D) to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) for their review. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Claims for September, 2016 <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Bosak to approve the <br />claims for September, 2016. Motion passed. Noted that $2,500.00 is currently in the gambling fund, <br />discussed possible donations, agreed to make a donation to the White Bear Lake Food Shelf. <br /> <br />Monthly Financial Reports <br />Approved. <br /> <br />Presentations from the Public <br />Nathan Fair, asked for update on the moratorium, handled out a new proposed development for the <br />Hansen property on County Road E. Noted Landmark has as outstanding bill of $12,000 to the City of <br />Gem Lake. Kevin Muramatsu, Village Pine Custom Gunsmithing asked about a zoning ordinance <br />amendment. <br /> <br />Open Items for Councilmembers to bring up <br />Councilmember Lindners’ work group will be meeting twice a month, working on a land use ordinance <br />and are making progress. <br /> <br />Brad Naylor, citizen, would like to apply to be on the Planning Commission. An application will be <br />emailed to Mr. Naylor. <br /> <br />Mayor Uzpen suggested that city look into buying the property on Goose Lake Road that is for sale for a <br />park.
