Councilmember Rasmussen stated that <br />there are 27 parking spaces available for all the businesses, which would leave <br />only five extra parking spaces for Four Seasons Auto Sales. Mr. Newcomb is <br />requesting two parking spaces in front of the office and two spaces on <br />Scheuneman Road to display his cars for sale.. <br />The Public Hearing opened up at 7:19 p.m. <br />Councilmember Lindner asked Mr. Newcomb the process of how he sells his <br />cars. Mr. Newcomb stated that he brings his clients to the back lot to look at the. <br />cars. He would like the two front parking spaces to show his cars to bring in <br />clients. Councilmember Rasmussen asked about signs for his business, Mr. <br />Newcomb stated that he would put signs hanging from the mirror inside the car. <br />He is thinking of putting a sign on the building and will abide by the new sign <br />ordinance. Mr. Newcomb said that this is his only business. <br />The. Public Hearing closed at 7:34 p.m. <br />It was recommended to modify the conditional use permit with the following <br />changes: Will leave in no complaints during the 12-month period. The council <br />discussed the parking space issue and decided to add parking spaces for a total <br />of 24. A maximum of two parking spaces in front of the building and two on the <br />side of the building with twenty spaces in the back of the building: One parking <br />space per vehicle. The permit is non -transferable. Business hours shall be 6 <br />a.m. to 10. p.m. Monday through Saturday. Upon motion by Councilmember <br />Bosak, and seconded by Councilmember Lindner, motion was passed. Ayes — 4, <br />Nays — 0. <br />YMCA Fund Raising Activity: The council had discussed this issue last fall and <br />decided not to participate. The issue was been brought up again and there is no <br />money in the budget at this time. Will look at the budget for 2011 to see if there <br />will be any extra money in the budget for this. <br />Purchasing Newcombe Property: It was brought to the City's attention that the <br />Newcomb property next door to Heritage Hall is for sale and should the City <br />purchase this property? If the City bought the property, they would tear the <br />house down and expand the parking lot and maybe add a park. The council <br />decided to proceed with a Special City Council Meeting/Public Hearing the first <br />week of April for the sole purpose of laying out the options to the citizens of Gem <br />Lake and obtaining citizen feedback. <br />Sewer Connection Fee for 2010: It was tabled until the April City Council <br />meeting. <br />book for us on the World Wide Web at emlakernn.org <br />
