<br />The Ramsey Soil & Water Conservation District works with
<br />community & agency partners to identify and implement projects
<br />that help to conserve and enhance natural resources in Ramsey
<br />County through providing technical, financial, and educational
<br />assistance. Example projects include localized stormwater
<br />management through green infrastructure landscaping and
<br />erosion control measures such as stream bank restoration and .

<br />Working with Ramsey County Public Works, Parks &
<br />Recreation, and the Soil & Water Conservation
<br />District, municipal, and watershed districts over the
<br />next three to five years, Ramsey County EMHS will
<br />identify and prioritize areas where hillsides, banks or
<br />bluffs can be stabilized thereby reducing impacts to
<br />critical infrastructure, roads, natural resources, and
<br />recreation areas from erosion and slope failure.

<br />By stabilizing these areas, the Ramsey County mitigates
<br />potential damage to essential transportation routes and utilities,
<br />safeguarding public safety and maintaining access to vital
<br />services. This action also helps preserve natural resources and
<br />recreational spaces, ensuring long-term sustainability and
<br />reducing economic losses from future slope-related hazards.
<br />The Ramsey County Soil & Water Conservation District, as well
<br />as five other watershed districts that coordinate erosion control
<br />efforts in their respective comprehensive planning areas.
<br />Ramsey County Public Works also works to identify erosion
<br />issue areas along roads maintained by the County. Ramsey
<br />County Property Management owns critical infrastructure along
<br />the southern slope of the Mississippi River bluffs. Both Ramsey
<br />County EMHS and Saint Paul/Ramsey County Public Health
<br />have Departmental Operations Centers located within this
<br />building. Tax collection and election services are also
<br />coordinated or managed in this building. Local municipalities
<br />work to address erosion/slope stabilization within their
<br />communities.
