During this presentation they will update members
of the public on this year’s well testing results for wells
within city limits.

Recently, contamination from Per and Polyfluoroalkyl
Substances (PFAS) was detected in several local wells.
PFAS are a family of human-made chemicals that have
been widely used for decades. PFAS are extremely
stable and do not breakdown in the environment. They
have been found in ground water and surface water all
over Minnesota.

Officials from the MPCA will update the public on Gem
Lake’s issues and will suggest mitigation strategies. After
some routine business, their presentation will be
generally first on the agenda. All are welcome and
encouraged to attend.
