Each of the new homes <br />in this section would have had an average <br />lot size of 1.47 acres, down from the 3 acre <br />average of the original plat. <br /> <br />The request was reviewed by the Gem <br />Lake Planning Commission on January 4, <br />when the plan was also the subject of a <br /> <br />(continued on page 2) <br /> <br />Hilary Farm Re-Platting Request Denied <br />Mayor Uzpen Reflects on 2010 Accomplishments <br />According to a recent report by Gem Lake <br />Mayor Bob Uzpen, 2010 was a very successful <br />year for the city. <br />"The city stayed within its expense budget and <br />was able to save a small amount to carry over <br />into 2011." <br />In addition, the following is a list of some of the <br />city's accomplishments from last year: <br />*The accounting firm of Larson Allen audited <br />the financial condition of the city. The report <br />showed that Gem Lake is in a strong financial <br />position, with adequate resources. <br />*The city receives a small percentage of pull tab <br />income, which it used for charitable donations, <br />as well as betterment for citizens within the city. <br />This past year, the city donated to the White <br />Bear Lake Emergency Food Shelf, the Union <br /> (continued on page 3) <br />Jessie Hart, Gem Lake <br />Treasurer <br /> Mayor Bob Uzpen
