They make fishing sinkers
and battery terminal posts and have been in business
since 1949. They have been very much in the news
lately. This is a summary of what happened and how it
potentially affects residents of Gem Lake.

What happened
In the summer of 2018, Water Gremlin (WG) informed
the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) that
they were not operating within the limits of their
permitted air emissions rates of Trichloroethylene
(TCE). Between the time the MPCA was notified and
January of 2019, WG conducted an internal
investigation to determine both how much and for how
long they were exceeding their permitted emission
levels. Contributing to the length of the inquiry was the
nature of the records being researched.
