<br />AN ORDINANCE DEFINING NUSIANCES, PROHIBITING THEIR CREATION OR MAINTENANCE
<br />AND PROVIDING ITOR•ABATE MENT AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
<br />THE CITY COUNCIL.OF T1IE CITY OIL GEIVI LAK.E.ORDAINS:.
<br />Section 1. Public Nuisance Defined, A public nuisance.is a thin&.act., or use. of property which shall;
<br />1. Annoy, injure, -or endanger the health, safety, conifgrtq or repose ofthe pub[ic;
<br />2. Offend.public decency;
<br />.3. Unlawfully interfere with the use of of obstruct, or tend.to obstruct or render dangerous for passage,'a
<br />public Water, park, sq unrc,. street, alley, or highway;
<br />4; Depreciate the value. of the property of the inhabitants of the City.of Gem Lake or of a.considerabl:e.number
<br />thereof;. or
<br />5. In anyway. render the inhabitants of the City of .Gem Lake; or a considerable number thereof insecure in
<br />Iii.fe or. in. use pf property.
<br />Section 2. Definitions.
<br />L The term "City" as used herein means the City of Gem Lake,
<br />1 The term "person" as used hcrein includes. any person, firm, or corporation, and the singular.shall include
<br />the plural.
<br />3. Where references are.made. herein to particular officers,councils: boards, or. agencies, such officers,
<br />councils, boards, or agencies are thoseof the. C'.ity..of Gem Lake,
<br />4. The term "C.aunciI" as. used Herein means the City Council of the City of Gem Lake.
<br />Section 3, Puhiic Nuisances Affecting I-1ealth, Safety, Comfort; or Repose. The foliowing.are hereby declared to
<br />be public nuisances, affecting:health, safety, comfort, or repose:
<br />1. All decayed or unwholesome food offered for sale to the public;
<br />2: A]Idiseaseu.animals running at large;
<br />3. Mi.]k which is produced by cows. which. have riot been tested and .found free of tuberculosis within the
<br />year previous .to the offering of such .milk for sale to the public;
<br />4. Carcasses of all itnals not buried or destroyed within 24.3tours. after death;
<br />5. Accumulations:af manure or rubbish;
<br />G. Privy vaults and garbage.cans which are not fly -fight;
<br />.7. Dumping: the contents of any cesspool, privy vault, or garbage call except at places authorized by law;
<br />S. All noxious weeds and other rank growth;
<br />1. An accurnulation:oftin cans, bottles, o.rtrash or debris .ofaa.ynature.ar description; and the.throwing;
<br />dumping, or depositing 6fany dead 'animals, manure, garbage.; waste, &cay.nig matter, ground, sand,
<br />stones, ashes, rubbish, .tin.cans, or other materials of any kind on private property;
<br />1.0. Dense smoke; noxious fumes, gas, and soot.or cinders in unreasn.nabl.e.gpantities;
<br />1. L. Offensive trades and businesses as. defined by -statute or ordinance not licensed as. provided by law;
