Native Prairie Plants <br />Native plants are described as rirose that have Men growing in place for a very longtime, <br />perbaps centuries or millennia. These plants fit well into the diversity of their ecosystems. <br />Many insects and other living creatures have evolved to depend on these plants. Native s R— <br />plants provide food and shelter for insects, birds and other wildlife. Native plants are <br />adapted to tolerate tough conditions; drought, flood, heat, cold and heavy rains. Some <br />prefer poor sail. True natives are "wild type", carrying more genetic variation which <br />enables future further adaptation.
