Code pertaining to Short Term Rentals. <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: <br />SECTION 1. <br />That Legislative Code Chapter 379. entitled.:"Short Term Rentals" is hereby created to read as <br />follows:' <br />Chapter 379. Short: Term Rentals <br />Sec. 379.01 Definitions. <br />As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this: <br />section. <br />Booking Service. Any reservation andlor payment service provided by a person or entity that <br />facilitates :a. short-term rental transaction between a short-term rental host: and a. prospective <br />shart4erni rental guest, and for which the person or entity collects or receives, directly or.indirectly <br />through.an agent or intermediary, a. fee or cornpensation in connection with the reservation and/or <br />payment. services provided for the short-term rental transaction. <br />City. City of Saiht.:Pau€ <br />Compensation.' Remuneration or anything of economic value that.is provided promised or donated <br />primarily in exchange for services. rendered. This includes, but is not limited to, voluntary donations, <br />and fee -sharing. <br />Director. The Director of the: Department: of Safety and Inspections or his or her designee. <br />Dwelling. A. building that contains one-, two-, or multipledwelling units, intended .or designated to <br />be used, rented, leased, letor hired out to be occupied for living purposes, <br />Dwelling Unit, A single unit providing. complete, independent .lMing facilities for one or more <br />persons, including permanent provisions for living; sleeping, eating,. cooking and sanitation: <br />Guest. Any person or persons: renting a short-term rental. <br />Responsible Party. An individual[s) with the legal authority to make and act on.decisions of <br />tenancy, building maintenance, complaints ar.id repairs relating to: applicable safety codes.
