This subsection will include the regulations that apply <br />to deer hunting only. Below is an overview of the section: <br />a. Hunting must only be done from elevated deer stands. <br />b. Hurding deer into a hunting area is prohibited. <br />c. Hunters must have proper State license to take deer. <br />d. The maximum duration for a permit is 3 weeks. Those weeks must be on the permit. No hunt should last <br />more than 3 consecutive days. <br /> <br />Section 4.6 is proposed to regulate “Archery Turkey Hunting”. This subsection will include the regulations that <br />apply to turkey hunting only. Below is an overview of the section: <br />a. Hunters must have proper state license to take turkey. <br />b. The maximum duration for a permit is 6 weeks. Those weeks must be on the permit. No hunt should last <br />more than 3 consecutive days. <br /> <br />CITY FEE SCHEDULE <br /> <br />An ‘Archery Hunting Permit’ requires a $100.00 fee with a $500.00 escrow, in the City Fee Schedule, Ord . No. <br />135, Section 11. This fee should be reviewed and confirmed as reasonable for both deer and turkey hunting or <br />amended to include a separate fee for each type of hunt. <br /> <br /> Figure 1: An excerpt from the Draft City Fee Schedule, Ord. No. 135 <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Commission should review the draft ordinance and fee schedule. If the Commission desires additional <br />amending, direction regarding ordinance changes should be provided to staff. <br />Attachments: <br />1.
