As you know, there is only so much we <br />can do within our roles before state mandates and cost shifts force our cities into difficult <br />decisions—often leading to levy increases many of us have already had to make. There is <br />strength in numbers, and our collective voice carries far more weight than any one of us alone. <br />Earlier this week, eight Brainerd Lakes Area mayors joined me in signing a similar letter. Since <br />then, the message has gained significant traction: local news outlets have covered it, radio <br />stations have discussed it, and mayors from across Minnesota have asked how they can add their <br />names. <br />This updated letter is fully footnoted, fact-based, and nonpartisan. It simply and honestly outlines <br />the challenges cities are facing and reaffirms our responsibility to protect our taxpayers.
