CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />RESOLUTION NO 94 09 <br />WHEREAS , the. City of Gem Lake contracts with the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's Department for Law Enforcement Services in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has requested an amendment to said contract <br />allowing the purchase of alternative insurance for the contract <br />cities through the Minnesota County Insurance Trust via a Joint <br />Powers Agreement with a term of three (3) years; and <br />WHEREAS, said amendment will significantly .insurance costs for law <br />enforcement provided to the contract cities; and <br />WHEREAS, said reduction in costs is consistent with the City of <br />Gem Lake guidelines for providing all government services to the <br />community .a t the lowest possible cost and, therefore, is in the <br />best interest of the business and residential citizens of Gem Lake. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Gem Lake does hereby empower the Mayor and City Clerk to. <br />execute the aforementioned Amendment To Contract on behalf of the <br />citizens of the City of Gem Lake allowing Ramsey County, on the <br />City's behalf, to enter into a Joint. Powers. Agreement with the <br />Minnesota County Insurance Trust for the purpose of purchasing <br />insurance for the Contract Cities. <br />Resolution No. 9409 is ā¯‘ffered by Councilmember McPhillips and <br />supported by Councilmember Igo was unanimously adopted by the <br />following vote: <br />Page z of 2 <br />
