<br />City of Gem Lake Comprehensive Plan GEMLK 140643 <br />Page 50 <br />6.1.5 Freight <br />Freight facilities within the City are limited to the Burlington-Northern railroad running <br />north-south along the eastern boundary, and the Canadian-National railroad running <br />southwest-northeast along the northern boundary. The Burlington-Northern railroad is <br />planned to become a part of the Bruce Vento Regional Trail and is a Tier 1 Alignment <br />identified in the Met Council’s Regional Bicycle Transportation Network. <br />Gem Lake’s Freight System elements are shown in Figure 6.4 <br />
