FORTY-SEVENTH 14EETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />DULY 16th 19b3 - HOFFNiANS CORNERS HALL <br />1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:35 PM <br />2. The CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Hansen, Arcand, John Morgan and Dave hof1 man. <br />ABSENT - John Gray <br />3. UPON MOTION MADE BY ARCAND AND SECONDED BY HANSEN THE RE,&DING OF <br />THE HIIFTTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD JUNE 18th 1963 WERE <br />DIET ENSED WITH - ALL AYES, <br />1�. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - <br />George Lund, Jerald Wallace and Stanley Perbis of the Northern <br />States Power Co., were present for the purpose of securing a <br />franchise for the operation of Natural Gas lines in the Village <br />of Gem Lake. Also they felt it wise to have a franchise for the <br />electrical system which was in existence before our incorporation. <br />a. Allen Hansen moved and Richard Arcand seconded that the proposed <br />gas franchise be read to the council. The ordinance (Gem Lake #6 ) <br />- } was read by Jerald Wallace with explanations of the various <br />clauses and he answered some questions of the council members. <br />Upon motion made by Hansen and seconded by Arcand Gas <br />Ordinance ##6 was unanimously approved by the council. The same <br />was signed by Mayor and Clerk and will be published by and at <br />the expense of the Northern States Power Co, in -h e Write Bear <br />Press. <br />b. Arcand moved and Hansen seconded that the proposed Electric <br />Ordinance (Gen Lake #7) be read to the Council. Ordinance ##7 <br />was read by Jerald Wallace with explanantions as above, <br />Upon motion made by Arcand and seconded by Hansen Ordinance <br />;#7 for electric lines was unanimously approved by the council, <br />signed by the Mayor and the Clerk and will be published same <br />as above. <br />Nither ordinance gives exclusive rights to any one. <br />5. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES - <br />a. UponmotionmadebyArffcalndll and seconded by fHansen the council <br />C$D,o�LUNGoCO$,W�GEeANDyWATandard <br />ERAND <br />DtELECTRIC <br />CODE. The Clerk was instructed to prepare the proper ordinances <br />for these codes and submit them at the next meeting. Ali. ayes <br />6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - <br />a. Further discussion of the propsed fire ordinance was tabled. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />a. Upon motio:6 made by Hansen and seconded by Arcand it was <br />unanimously resolved that the Village elections be held on the <br />first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 1963. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS <br />a. Treasurer's report - Previous balance ¢ 923-99 <br />Receipts 236.00 <br />Total 1..159.99 <br />Disbursements 136 7 <br />Current bal ante 23.2 <br />
