FORTY - NINTH MEN TTNG - .'ILIAGE OF GENT LAKE COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 17th 1963 - HOFFMAi46 CORNERS HALL <br />L. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:25 PM. <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED TT-TE ROLL - <br />PRL'SENT - H. Hoffman, A. Hansen, R.Arcand, J. Morgan and <br />D. Hoffman - also J. Bemis, J. Danie.11, S. Donnelly, <br />and C. Wild. <br />ABSENT - John Gray. <br />3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTESOF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD AUGUST 20th <br />1963 - Moved by Hoffman and seconded by Hansen that same be accepted <br />at read with one change under item 16 In the second line, substitute <br />the words "subject to" in place of the word "pendin,p". All ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - none. <br />5. REPORTS OF COA94ITTEES - <br />a. J. Bemis,chairman of the planning committee, stated that he <br />had sent to the members of the council final corrected copies <br />of the proposed "Subdivision Regulations" prepared by Midwest <br />Planning and Research and recommended that the cofincil aceppt <br />same for submission to a public hearing at the next council <br />meeting on October 15th 1963. Acceptance was moved by Hansen <br />and seconded by Arcand. All ayes - The clerk was instructed to <br />place a notice in the White Bear Press announcing the public <br />hearing. <br />t UNFINISHED BUSINESS - <br />a. It was reported that Dahlgren has done a plan for the Towsley <br />Ford auto sales location, and submitted it to Towsley. <br />b. The question of an arrangement to secure sewer connection from <br />the City of White Bear was discussed at great $ength and it was <br />the opinion of those present that if sewer was desired greatly <br />by certain businesses in Gem Lake, and that if it was economically <br />possible for them to get it at no cost to the village, the village <br />should cooperate in this endeavour. The understanding was that <br />those ih o wished the sewer would underwrite the cost to the <br />village, which cost might be recovered by them at a later date <br />if others wished to tie into the lines on some pre -arranged <br />h asis.They could probably not recover all their cost but at <br />least a part of it. <br />Moved by Arcand and seconded by Hoffman that Allan R. Hansen <br />be authorized by the council to look into the possibilities with <br />the dity of White Bear, as a representative o? the Village of <br />Gem Lake and report back to the omfincil et the next meeting. <br />All ayes . (Note - the village will have to acquire good legal <br />advice with the problems of village responsibility and method <br />underwriting etc.) <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />!� a. The clerk had received a letter from the County Aud izor's <br />office (J.D. Swan, Exec. Sec.) requesting that the village <br />r approve Laws 1959, Chapter 372 - letter dated Sept, 9th 1963 <br />
