EIGHTYIETH MEETING - VILLkGE OF GEM LAVE COUNCIL <br />MARCH 15th 1966 - HOWiiANS CORNERS HALL <br />1. Morgan moved and Gray seconded that Rtdhard Arcand be <br />acting Mayor for this meeting due to absence of both <br />Henry L. Hoffman, Mayor and Allen Hansen, deputy. Itill ayes. <br />The acting Mayor called the meeting to order aJr 8:05 PM. <br />2. THE CLERK, CA LLE7 TIE ROLL - <br />I resent - Arcand, Gray, ;organ and John Ward (treas. ) also <br />Clarence Wild and Dick Hansen guests. <br />Absent - H. L. Hoffman, and Allen Hansmen. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FRON THE FLOOR - None <br />. REPORTS OF C014MITTEES 1 <br />a.. The clerk reported that Judson Bemis chfirman of the <br />planning; committee had not been able to get his oommittee <br />tokether before this meeting to consider Dick F.ansensa <br />requests, but would do so before the Aptil meeting and <br />report at that time. <br />3. ( out of order) Minutes of previous meeting not read - <br />no quorum. <br />6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - <br />a. Gray moved and Arcand seconded that the resolution with <br />respect to Dave Hoffman's resignation and bond be approved <br />and sent to Bachman -Anderson. all ayes. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />a. The clerk called attention to the fact that the State <br />Supreme Court had ruled that municipalities had no power <br />license electrical contractors in thi4 state. Clerk was <br />asked to confirm this to the Electrical Inspector. <br />b. The clerk reported that he had had conversations with <br />Judge John Kirby of the joint municipal court of Maplewood <br />Liitle Canada and Vadnais Heights to the effect that it is <br />a simple matter for this village to join with these others <br />and that our village would not he subject to much expense <br />if any. Moved by P.rcand and seconded by Gray that Morgan <br />and Oehler be and hereby are authorized to proceed with <br />an application to joint the joint court, prepare resolutions <br />and get the job done as soon as possible. all ayes. <br />c. Clarence gild suggested that in view of the above we get <br />the telephone removed from the hall- it is never used an�vay. <br />Gray moved and Morgan seco nded that Morgan write to the <br />telephone co. promptly. all ayes. <br />d. The clerk notbd xk that as usual there had been many <br />accidents at the junction of Highway #61 and E. County Rd E. <br />Wild suggested that we try writing to Roy Nadeau. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS - <br />a. Clerk reported a balance after authorizations below of <br />§2',543.93 <br />The treasurer reported a current bank balance of <br />
