EIGHTY :: FIRST MEETING - VILLA -GE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />APRIL 19th 1966 - HOPWANS CORNERS HALL <br />1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:22 PM. <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - H. L. Hoffman, John Gray, Dick Arcand, John Morgan. <br />Guests - Dick Hansen & son, C. Wild and others. <br />ABSENT - Allen Hansen, John Ward. _ <br />3. TIC,' CLERK READ THE 11IPNTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD <br />MARCH 15th 1966 - Moved by Gray and seconded by Arcand that <br />same be approved as read - All ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM TIPS FLOOR. - <br />a. Dwyer enquired about a new kind of bottle license which <br />9. permitted customers to bring their own bottle and get set-ups <br />and take their bottle away with them - not a bottle club ? <br />First check - "Bottlet Clubs or spiking Establishements" - <br />get their licenses from the liquor control co. - but <br />x villages may in addition dedide to control^ XWhUp aces in <br />their oun areas. <br />5. REPORTS OF CO1U,ITTEES - <br />a. The planning ecx(imittee did not have a report ready for this <br />meeting wifrl regard to the inquiries of Dick Hansen. Mayor <br />Hoffman explained that the planning committee expected to be <br />able to report at the May meeting and that he would call <br />Chairman Bemis and urge hir- to have His report ready. Hansen <br />was disturbed by the delay, claims he wants to use his property <br />and might proceed without regard to the zoninF? regulations. <br />( note: It took two years and cost more than ;.-,000 to prepare <br />the zoning and subdivision regulations - Hansen's <br />letter to Bemis is dated March 5th, 1966 so the com. <br />has had just six weeks to igork on it ) <br />6. UNFINISHED BUSIIESS - <br />a. Cole Oehler submitted to Judge John Kirby on March 25th,1966 <br />a resolfion as follows " Resolution providing for a joint <br />Municipal Court for the Villa es of Maplewood, Little Canada, <br />/ Vadnais Heights and Gem Lake . Jbd.ge Kirby called John Morgan <br />on Monday April 18th and advised him that he considered this <br />resolution to be almost perfect - he would not change a word - <br />and he ( Kirby) would procedd at once to submit it to the <br />other Villages for approval before July Ist 1966. Moved by <br />Arcand and seconded by Gray that Oehlers "resolution " be and <br />hereby is approved by the Gem Take Village Council.All ayes. <br />b. Clerk Morgan submitted resolution 2J50 on workmens compensation <br />for police officers to the council - Moved by Arcand and secon- <br />ded by Gray that same be approved and Gent to North Ogks and <br />Sheriff Weber, All ayes. <br />( both above resolutions attached to these minutes.) <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />a. In reply to a letter from letter from Donald Strange, council- <br />man of City of White Benr Lake, the clerk was instructed to <br />reply stating that the Village of Gem Lake Council look favorably <br />upon his suggestion with regard to "Gallfs Golf Course". <br />
