GEM LAKE VILLAGE <br />ELEVENTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL * HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL <br />JULY 19th 1960 AT 8;30 PM, <br />1, The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8;30 pm. <br />2. The clerk called the roll <br />Present - Hoffman, Gray,.Arcand,Morgan & Birkeland. <br />A.b s ent - Hanson, <br />3. The clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting,held <br />on June 21st 1960. Moved by Gray and Seconded by Morgan <br />that same be approved as read. All ages. <br />1�, Reports of committees - none, <br />5, Unfinished business from lastmeeting - none. <br />6. New Bud ne s s - <br />a. Moved by Gray and Seconded by Morgan as follows; <br />"Ordinance #3 - An ordinance regulating the use of <br />highways within the village of Gem Lake,incorporating <br />provisions of the State highway- traffic regulating act <br />by reference, and imposing a penalty for the violation <br />thereof." all ayes, <br />b. Moved by Hoffman and seconded by Morgan that the council <br />authorize Justice of the Peace, Cranford Ingham, to <br />proceed with a jury trial and secure the services of <br />a lawyer to prosecute, and the Village will assume the <br />expenses. All ayes. <br />c. Moved by Arca.nd and seconded by Gray that .Alan Hanson <br />be appointed acting commissioner of registration for <br />1960 with power to deputise a man in his office. All ayes. <br />d. The following election Jodges were appointed by the <br />council - Mrs. John H. Daniels, Miss Eileen Bigelow, <br />Mrs. Chas. Schifsky with alternates - Mrs. Arthur Birkeland <br />
