GEM LAKE VILLAGE <br />6th MEETING OF TBE COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 16th 1960 AT HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL <br />A. Mr, Gus Rassmussen from the County assessors office was the <br />guest of the council and explained in detail to those present <br />the workings of the taxing system for the City of St.Paul, <br />Ramsey County, the various school districts and the local <br />bod,tes, We have controj of the local mil rate only, which for <br />1960 is that of the Town of White Bear at 9.62 and will not <br />be changeduntil 1961, In the fall of this year we submit rLour <br />finan&Aal requirements to the County Auditor, which will then <br />become the basis of our local rate. <br />Rassmussen advised us that the County assessor, Powers, will <br />advise us in due course what is going to be done about a local <br />assessor, He will probably suggest using a trained man from <br />his office, <br />The Council much appreciated Mr. Rasmussens visit, <br />1. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 10;10 P.M. <br />2, The Clerk called the roll. <br />Present - Mayor Hoffman, Hansen, Arcand, Morgan and tress, <br />Birkeland. <br />Absent - John Gray. <br />3. Hansen move. and A.rcand seconded that dreading of the minutes <br />of the previous minutes be di4)ensed with ( due to late hour), <br />All ayes. <br />4.
