GEM LAKE VILLAGE <br />EIGHTH MEETING OF THE COUNCIL - HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL <br />APRIL 19th 1960. <br />A, Mr. Vance of the Metropolitan Planning Commission was present <br />began his remarks at 8;30 - herewith a few comments on his ideas <br />and suggestions ;.. <br />Must plan first and zone second in keeping with plan. Can use <br />temporary zoning until plan is ready. Need an official planning <br />commission as provided by law to secure the services og the MPC. <br />Suggested use of a planning consultant who is familiar with the <br />rest of the area, Water and sewage problems - ever with us - will <br />come up inconnection with the over-all planning, We must first make <br />a land use survey of what we have. <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 9;30 PM. <br />2, ALL PRESENT. <br />3. Minutes of previous meeting read by clerk - Moved by Hansen and <br />seconded by Gray that same be approved as read - all AYES. <br />4. NO COMMITTEE REPORTS. <br />5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Mayor reported that the Township Weed Inspector <br />was Mr. George Silloway and that he charged by the hour - which <br />charges were applied to owners property. Mooed by Gray and Second <br />by Arcand that we employ Mr. Silloway. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS - MOVED BY HANSEN AND SECONDED BY.A.RCAND THAT WE APPROVE <br />\ THE NEW POLICE PROTECTION CONTRACT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF. ALL .AYES. <br />7. TREASUERS REPORT;- March balance $2,555.16 - receipts 016,99 - <br />payments $118.00 - balance as of April 19th $29437,16 <br />Moved by Hansen second by JdUd x dmtGray that treasurers report accepted, <br />8. MOVED BY ARCAND AND SECONDED BY GRAY THAT MEETING BE ADJOURNOD. <br />ALL AYES. <br />
