CITY OF GEM LAKE RESOLUTION NO.99-0b 18 October 1919 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan, Council required all cities within -ihe Metropolitan Urban .Service Area. to update their comprehensive [municipal plans oe or before 31 December 1998 and to update their local watershed management. plans as an a8dendutn to comprehensive.municipal plans on of before June,30;.1999;.and WHEREAS,theCity requested and received an. extension ofthe June.30,1999 date to December 341999 from the Metropolitan Council; and WHEREAS, die City has engaged the services of professional planners,. hydrologists, .engineers, and:others.for the purpose of carefully preparing.a plan consistent with thb.wishes expressed by the Planning Commission, City Council, and citizens of the community that will guide the City in -the future; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have received and considered direct.input.for consideration.of amendments. additions and deletions to the;Proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan from the citizens of Gem: Lake, adjacent communities, local water management organizations; and the Metropolitan Council via appropriately. published public hearings and direct written invitation; and. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and .City Council have incorporated and/or made changes to the Proposed Local Watershed Managetrdent:Plan*portion of the Comprehensive .Municipal Plan .based upon input:received during the processdeemed to be .reasonable and piudent and within:the. guidelines .established by the dtizensof Gem Lake; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan .Council and it's advisory bodies have reviewed and approved the Proposed Local Watershed Management Plan portion of the Comprehensive Municipal Plan with conditions and advised the .City of Gem Lake in writing that it may Adopt the plan. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVER, thatthe City Council ofthe City of Gem Lake does by this.. resolution adopt the. -City of Gem Lake Comprehensive Municipal Plan as approved by the: Metropolitan. Council: and BE IT.FURTHER RESOLVED, that.the City Council hereby directs the Planning Commission, City Planner, City Engineer, and. other .necessary .professionals to draft a Watershed Management.Plan to be presented: for approval by the Metropolitan Council and inotadedJn the Coinprehensive,Municipal Plan by not later thatt:31 December 1998; and BE 'IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby directs -Ihe Planning Commission and other necessary professionals to evaluate and amend, as not essary, all current city ordi mcps10 reflect.the intentions -of -the plan an(Tto introduce for consideration and *adoption n drdiidances required by, ttie plant and B:E IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby offers it's gratitude :and the gratitude.bfthe coinmtin'ity to .the Planning Commission for completion of the five. year project now :known by title as the City of Gein. *Lake Complete Comprehensive Municipal..
