Like the 2006 Municipal Water Supply Feasibility Study, this water supply feasibility study evaluates the <br />potential for a centralized water distribution system within Gem Lake to provide a safe and reliable source of <br />water to all residents and businesses within Gem Lake. <br />Since Gem Lake does not intend on having their own water supply source, the City must rely on the surrounding <br />communities to provide water to the Gem Lake water distribution system. Accordingly, the purpose of this study <br />was to evaluate Gem Lake water demand, and water quality and availability of neighboring community water <br />distribution systems to provide high quality water to meet the needs of Gem Lake. Hydraulic modeling was <br />performed to determine feasibility of neighboring systems providing the necessary water and to determine the <br />conceptual sizing of necessary water mains and other water distribution system infrastructure.
