Leave <br />Holidays <br />The City of Gem Lake *provides - full-time and part-time employees with flek leaver bt PTO (Paid <br />time off) for the fol lowing holidays:. <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Lather King Jr Day <br />President'-s Day <br />Memorial: Day <br />Freedom Day (Juneteenth) <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />When any holiday. falls on a Saturday, -the. holiday Vi.11 generally be observed on the preceding <br />Friday. When any:holiday falls on. Suriday, the holiday will generally be observed on the <br />Monday following. The City may change -this to accommodate business :needs. <br />Employees shall be entitled to compensated time off for designated holidays; provided --the <br />employee ison compensated payroll status the last assigned work day precedhig the holiday"d <br />the first assigned work 4ay following the holiday. <br />If a scheduled paid holiday occurs during your vacation or a paid leave of.absence, you will <br />receive pay for the holiday in lieu of being charged for a vacation day or paid leave. If a holiday <br />occurs while you are on. an, Vnpaid leave of absence,. you will not be paid. for the holiday, - <br />Part -time. employees shall -be entitled to pro -rated holiday pay -based on:an average hours. per day <br />worked in the twoprevious pay periods. The hours shall be pro -rated to, and not -to -exceed, the <br />.regular: full-time day in the office the trnployee.li. based. For.instanee, 4 parf-time employee. <br />working 80% or 32 hours per week, would be:compensated for SO% of a.fulI day in flex leave. <br />If a designated holiday from the above list is observed Monday through Thursday, part-time <br />employees. are given 100% pay*for the. holiday. If the holiday is observed qn a Friday, part-time <br />employees who work -Monday through Thursday only, are given 80% pay for the holiday. <br />Iri ayear whenthristmas Eve and Chr'istritas Day fall on scheduled days off (i.e, Saturday or <br />Sunday) the.
