New Business Status Report on Well Testing, Contamination Investigation —Tim Grape .and MicbaeI Ginsbach, MPCA, MPCA Representative*Michael Ginsbach-stated. that. almost every home in Gem Lake that has:a: well has been sampled, with the Northernend of Scheuneman Road that has. had additional. testing. There will be one more. round .of testing this year, to grab additional.. samples in -the fall, Which will either be tested by the MPCA or a consultant Hired by the MPCA. These satrapies will help finalize the.investigation. The investigation into the source of the contamination is very close to being completed. Until that investigation has been completed: no information can be shared yet on the potential source of the contamination. Once the source has been found the MPCA and State can then go after the individual or company to clean up the problem. Bottled water is still being delivered to the affected.properties and will continue to:be supplied until a solution.to the issue has been put in place. The. MkA has been working closely with the. Met Council.aod White Bear Township on this. investigation. The public had questions regarding the difietetit optlons:right crow in lieu of bottled water that the MPCA can do, and.atthis time the.MPCA is comfortable with supplying.bottled water.until a more. permanent solution can be. finalized. Another question was how the public would be informed once the investigation has been completed, When the MPCA gets to:that.point, the City will hold another Workshop, a story will be in the City Newsletter and the MPCA's website will also be.updated.
