No: 2022-0024 <br />Novem Wr 15; 2022 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE POL)L,ING PLACES FOR THE 2023 ELECTIONS <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 20413.16 requires.the City Council to designate polling places for the <br />upcoming year by resolution;: and <br />WHEREAS, changes. to the polling places locations maybe inade:.at least 90.days before the next <br />election if one or snore of the authorized polling places becomes unavailable for use; and <br />WHEREAS, changes tQ.the.polIing places. locations maybe [Wade. in. the case an: emergency when -it is: <br />necessary to ensure a safe:atad secure location for voting; and <br />NOWjREREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Gem Lake hereby designates the <br />following polling places .for any elections conducted in the City in 2023, <br />Heritage Hall, 4200 Otter Lake Road, Gem Lake, MN 55110 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to designate. a replacement <br />meeting the tequiretheiits of the "Minnesota Election Law for any polling. place designated in this <br />Resolution that been n es. unavailable for use by the City; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the .City CIerk is hereby authorized to designate an emergency <br />3 replacement polling place meeting the requirements of the Minnesota Election Law for any polling place <br />designated in this Resolution when necessary to. ensure. a safe and secure locatiowfor voting; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to send a copy of this Resolution and <br />.any subsequent polling place designations to the Ramsey County Elections Office. <br />Tire motion l'or adoption of the foregoing Resolution was offered by Councilmember and was <br />supported by.Couneilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the Resolution. passed with <br />a vote of' in favor and against. <br />.Attest <br />I; Melissa Lawrence; the duly qualified Acting City Clerk for the City of Gem Lake, County of Ramsey, <br />State of Minnesota, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution is a true accurate -representation of <br />action taken by the City Council of the City of Gem*Lake on the date first. written. <br />.
