8 <br /> <br />Sewer and Water Connection Fees <br />Buildings or dwellings existing or constructed in the City of Gem Lake must connect to the municipal <br />water and sanitary sewer system so long as it is reasonably available. Commercial buildings must <br />connect within one (1) year and residential buildings must connect within ten (10) years from the time a <br />connection is available to any such property. <br /> <br />Metropolitan Council Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) units and fees are established by the Metropolitan <br />Council per state statute MN 473.517. Prior to connecting to public utilities, the owner or representative <br />must pay the following fees: <br />Sewer Connection Fees <br />Dwelling Type Fees Comments <br />Single Family Dwellings $75.00 Plus SAC per unit (Sewer Changeover Permit <br />from Septic or New Construction) <br />Two-Family Dwellings $75.00 Plus SAC per unit (Sewer Changeover Permit <br />from Septic or New Construction) <br />Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) - <br />City <br />$1,000.00 per <br />unit <br />As established by the City.
