The addendum is <br />consistent with our long-standing agreement. Budget detail regarding the 2019 budget <br />to support the budget calculations is attached for your information. <br />The 2019 addendum represents a significant change from previous years' service level <br />and resulting service level costs. The City conducted a comprehensive fire and <br />ambulance operational review during 2018. This review resulted in a departmental <br />reorganization, which implementation occurring during the. last four to five months of <br />2018. The reorganization addressed changing resident service level expectations and <br />utilization. During the fire operational review, it became evident that the City's reliance <br />on a "paid on call" fire and ambulance service membership was not feasible. for <br />providing quality future service levels. it is no longer feasible to expect fire service <br />membership to be available to address the increasing service level demands on a <br />strictly "paici-won-calf" basis. <br />Due, to service level, reorganizational operating costs are. adjusted accordingly. Gem <br />Lake's tax capacity valuation along with operating costs including fire inspections results <br />in Gem Lake's share of. the 2019 fire .and. inspection contract amount being set at <br />$21,$80. <br />Please sign both eopies of the addendum: and return one of them to me.
