(JPA) The Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization Joint Rowers Agreement is seeking agreerrient from its membership with for a first.am.endment to. the 2017 Joint Powers Agreement. VLAWM0 is: applying for insurance coverage through the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance. Trust (LMCIT). In order todo do that VLAWMO is being required to expand the current language in the JPA regarding insurance. The current.language ❑n page 7 of Che.JPA simply reads: "Subdivision 14. Insurance. VLAWMO may contract for or purchase such insurance as the Board deems.necessary1or its protection!' Please see the attached 'First Amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement to Protect and Manage the Vadnais Lake Watershed.' The underlined language would amend the insurance and liability section of the. J PA. Currently VLAWM0 has Public Errors and. Omissions insurancethrough the Professional Government Underwriters, Inc. The cost of.this has doubled in the lastyear, sparking a: hunt for alternative insurance coverage. The remaining umbrella coverage through United Fire Group covers auto,. general liability, inland marine and workers compensation. Estimates from our insurance broker, pending final numbers, anticipate a savings.of about 20% and better coverage with. LMCIT. The additional language is required by the.
