CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail Cit PgemlakeMN.org <br />Gem Lake Planning Commission Meeting <br />3 April 2012 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Chairperson Faith Kuny on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 7:02 p.m. at the <br />Gem Lake City Hall conference room. <br />The following members were present: Chairperson Faith Kuny, and Planning <br />Commissioners Arthur Pratt and Derrick Wippich. Commissioners Dan Marier <br />and Beth Herzog were not in attendance. <br />Planning Commission April Agenda: Chairperson Kuny asked for any <br />changes, deletions, or added agenda items. None was given and upon motion <br />by Commissioner Pratt and seconded by Commissioner Wippich; the April 3, <br />2012 agenda was approved. Ayes — 3, Nays — 0. <br />March Planning Commission Minutes: The March Planning Commission <br />minutes were reviewed and upon motion by Commissioner Pratt and seconded <br />by Commissioner Wippich, the March Planning Commission minutes were <br />approved. Ayes — 3, Nays — 0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Tom Hansen Property: Chairperson Faith Kuny discussed the informal <br />presentations from the two developers. There was discussion regarding the <br />Gate Way Ordinance for the hockey arena development. Commissioner Pratt <br />and Commissioner Wippich were concerned on what the hours would be for the <br />hockey arena. Commissioner Wippich stated two years ago there was talk <br />regarding building a Senior Living facility on the property. The hockey arena <br />would take up all the acres and the Senior Living would take up eight acres of the <br />property. There are some concerns regarding the residents living close to the <br />property. The developer for the hockey arena wants to schedule a meeting with <br />the residents living close to the acres and the Planning Commission is waiting for <br />a date. <br />Commissioner Wippich stated at one point the Hansen's was going to donate <br />some of the land to the City of Gem Lake. <br />
