Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />Claims for March: The bills for March were discussed and authorized to pay. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by Councilmember <br />Bosak, motion passes. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />Monthly Financial Report: The City Council received and reviewed the current <br />financials and budget for March and no questions were asked. <br />OPEN ITEMS FOR THE COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilmember Lindner will be training with SEH. He also sent Councilmember <br />Artig-Swomley some information about the Small Lakes Water Workshop he <br />attended to put in the newsletter. He will also be attending the VLAMO Technical <br />Committee meeting. <br />The Mayor had a meeting with the Attorney Trevor Oliver and Bill Short, City <br />Clerk of White Bear Township about updating city ordinances. It was <br />recommended to bring the ordinance code current. There is money in the budget <br />to work with VLAMO for the Comp Plan and map. The Mayor proposed to take <br />$5,000 out of the VLAMO fund, move it to the legal fund, and have Trevor Oliver <br />work with the Planning Commission. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner <br />and seconded by Councilmember Bosak to move $5,000 out of the VLAMO fund <br />to the legal fund. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />PRESENTATION FROM THE PUBLIC <br />A question was asked about the dead end sign for the golf course. It has been <br />made and will be dropped off at the gold course for them to put up. <br />Willow Lake Elementary School's PTO has a carnival every spring and was using <br />the same company they have always used to help with their carnival at school <br />and sent the down payment to the company. The company closed and the PTO <br />lost the money sent. The question was raised if there was any way that the City <br />of Gem Lake could help them out. The Mayor explained that Gem Lake sends <br />the school money each year and the PTO is a parent/teacher organization and is <br />different from the school. Councilmember Artig-Swomley will put in a request for <br />donations for the carnival in the newsletter. <br />FUTURE COUNCIL MEETINGS <br />Workshop Meeting: April 4, 2010 at 7.00 p.m. <br />City Council Meeting: April 20, 2010 at 7.00 p.m. <br />ADJOURN <br />The March16, 2010 regular meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 8.35 <br />p.m. Upon motion by Councilmember Rasmussen, and seconded by <br />Look for us on the World Wide Web at gemlakemn.org <br />
