CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone. 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail City(a?aemlakcMN.org <br />Gem Lake Planning Commission Meeting <br />7 July 2009 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Chairman Craig Rafferty on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 7:04 p.m. in the <br />Gem Lake City Hall meeting room. <br />The following members were present: Chairman Craig Rafferty, Planning <br />Commission members Beth Herzog, and Dan Marier. Planning Commission <br />member Derek Wippich was not present: Mayor Bob Uzpen was also present. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />Planning Commission Minutes: Rafferty called to approve the May and June <br />Planning Commission meeting minutes. Rafferty will have the April minutes done <br />by the August meeting. Motion by Herzog and seconded by Marier to approve <br />the May and June Planning Commission minutes. Ayes — 3, Nays - 0 <br />Planning Commission Agenda: Chairman Rafferty asked for any changes, <br />deletions or added agenda items. None were given, so proceeded to move <br />forward with the meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Comprehensive Plan: Mayor Uzpen explained that he hired SEH to complete <br />the water surface plan and also all issues that the Met Council has with. Gem <br />Lake and resolving them. Need pictures to attach to the plan. Rafferty has aerial <br />pictures that he will send to Justin at SEH. There is a sixty (60) day timeframe <br />to complete the plan and if there are any questions, SEH will contact Rafferty. <br />SEH will have the finished product done by August, 2009 to review and will send <br />the plan to the Met. Council by September, 2009. Mayor Uzpen met with TKDA <br />and they are going to do a proposal for 2010. They have a department that does <br />strictly comprehensive plans and also a department for engineering, so it's <br />something to look at for the future. <br />Sign Code Draft: The Planning Commission was given a packet of the draft <br />from 2005 to look at.
