Specifically we wanted to comment on
Gem Lake's plan to build a Town Hall on the Otter Lake Road site.
While the question of whether or not Gem Lake needs a $750,000 building will
be debated by others, it appears that if such an investment is made our business
will be among the major investors. We feel this gives us standing to express our
strong support for the Hanson concept of using eminent domain to redevelop the
present Hoffman Oil site. Bryan's point that improving the appearance of that
site would improve the likelihood of further development is reason enough to
consider this alternative to the current plan.
Bryan's email indicates that the Council seems to support the Otter Lake plan.
Hopefully no decision will be made until all of the viable proposals have been
evaluated and discussed in a forum that includes representatives of both the end
users and the major donors.
Sincerely,
ck Mayeron
General Manager, Barnett Chrysler Jeep Kia
3610 Highway 61 a White Bear Lake, MN 55110 - (651) 429-3391 - Fax (651) 429-5133
