MEMORANDUM <br />TO: <br />BILL SHORT <br />FROM: <br />BILL LABORE <br />DATE: <br />OCTOBER 19, 2007 <br />SUBJECT: SNOW REMOVAL AND ICE CONTROL ESTIMATES FOR THE <br />CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />I have driven the local roads in Gem Lake (Big and Little Fox roads, Tessier <br />Road, Haven Lane, Scheuneman Road, and Hoffman Road), and calculate the <br />cost to provide snowplowing and salt applications for the upcoming 2007/2008 <br />seasons: <br />1. Preseason Prep: installing marker stakes to minimize <br />plow damage — 3 hours (1 operator and 1 pickup truck) $ 195.00 <br />2. Plowing: 1 operator and a 5 yard dump <br />w/plow, wing, and sander — 3 hours (regular time $285.00, <br />after hours $352.50) <br />Ice Control (salt): $55.00 per ton x 3 ton = $165.00 <br />Total: Normal Business Hours $ 450.00 <br />(7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. M-F) <br />Evenings, Weekends, <br />Holidays $ 517.00 <br />3. Extra Salt Applications, Scraping, Benching & Clean -up - <br />(As determined by White Bear Township Public Works <br />Staff) <br />During normal business hours - $ 95.00/ <br />hour + <br />materials <br />4.
