Comcast Webmail - Email Message Page 1 of 1
From: "Bill Short" <Bill.Short@ci.white-bear-township.mn.us>
To: <pemeott@comcast.net>
CC: "Ed Durand" <edurand@rrtlarchitects.com>
Subject: Heritage Hall Progress Meeting
Date: Thursday, November 01, 2007 12:23:55 PM
Hi Paul,
We covered a lot at the meeting this morning. We'll need to find a time to over it soon.
- We reviewed the Oct. 24th Cost Submittal Reviews - RRTL and LM are eager to get review of those
several cost issues. I'll try to summarize them here:
1) PVC Credit of $526 is per 7/26/07 proposal from LM. I don't recall that there was an issue with this at
that time.
2) Relocate door and window in RCSD office (add $217) . This is basically the cost of labor to reframe the
openings.
3 eypads - droppe4l — - — -
1/ 4) Spray insulation. It was determined by RRTL and LM that it would be impossible to provide a proper
( vapor barrier (for blown fiberglass) in and around the trusses and framing in the sloped roof area. The price
l for the foam ($10,650) was taken from the April 20, 2007 bid from Nordic Insulation. I don't recall the
reason given for the $385 netting.
5) The recessed can lighting needed to have some sort of treatment whether insulation was foam or blown.
It appears that we saved on the "Thermax" boxes that would have been needed for the foam, but incurred
the cost of the gypsum board boxes needed for the blown fiberglass.
- The Town Engineer reported that the sewer/water contractor for the Township hopes to start on 11 /7/07
and have water available to building by 11/12/07. Sewer will follow and should not take more than another
week. LM seemed to be able to work with that.
- Site visits - LM asked that any visits to building by Town Board, City Council, residents, staff (except
building inspector) etc. be coordinated through Steve. LM voiced their concern and those expressed by the
subcontractors that such unscheduled visits were dangerous and a liability problem.
- Schedule - Steve gave Ed a new schedule which Ed recorded.
- Site prep costs - Greg will work with Denny from WW Excavating to break down his costs so as to
separate the work that was needed to make the site "buildable" versus normal site/building construction
costs.
I'll be in on this afternoon and Friday if you want to call, stop by or e-mail
Bill
htt-D://mailcenter3.comcast-net/wmr./v/wm/47?RIR 110001 F2 a C'nnnnzo e Roo i Acn,ZQc_Icu 1 1 /) I'MA-7
