LAKE, RAM`SEY COUNTY, .MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO.124 <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISCHARGE OFWEAPONS- AND HUNTING ON <br />PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE -CITY OF GEM LAKE, MINNESOTA. <br />THE CiTY COUNCIL OF -THE CITY OF GEM .LAKE: ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. Intent and purpose. The CityCouncil intends to protect the pubtic safety -of its <br />citizecis by regulating the use and discharge.ofcertain weapons on real. property in the Cite oiQe.m <br />Lake,.as permitted -by Minnesota Statutes; § 471..633. The City Council re.cognizes.that $tatelaw <br />governs all other matters regarding firearms, including purchase, possession, andrights to carry. <br />The Council also intends that existing State law relating to the discharge ofbows and arrows - <br />in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 9713, and. to .the purchase: possession, carrying or use of other <br />potentially dangerous weapons under Minnesota Statutes, § 609.66 and siniilar Jaws, be enforced <br />in the City. <br />Section2. Dangerous weapons may be discharged orused in the CityonIyunder the <br />following circuirstances: <br />4:.1 Permits for Archery Deer Hunting. The City Council may issuepermits authbriziiig the <br />useofdischarge ofabowand arrowwithin t.heCity forpurposesofdeerhunting.. Said perm it <br />shall be issued onlyduringthe appropriate game season fordeer, Oros deer hwiting is otherwise <br />authorized by the State «f Minnesofa� Department ofNatural Riesources. <br />ALA Abuntingpermitgrantedtinderthisparagraphshallonlyauthorizethedischargeor <br />use ofbowand arrowonaspecifiedparcelofpropertyoffive(5)acresorlargerivithinthe <br />City ofGem Lake.
