CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20 4-20 <br />.20 Septidib& 2004 <br />WH EREAS. the County ofRamsey. Division of Emergency Managementand Homeland Security is participating in the all -hazard <br />mitigation planning process -as. established under the. Disaster Mitigation.Act of 2006 Pub.' ,14o. 106-390; and <br />WHEREAS, the Act requires all counties and municipalities to develop and maintain all -hazard mitigation plans either <br />independently or on z county -[de, multi jurisdictional basis;.and <br />W kEREAS, such plans inusfbe well integrated and coordinated to account for the Fact that hazards in one jurisdiction impact <br />on other. Nearby. jurisdictions,; and <br />WHCREAS, the .Act establishes a- frameNvork forthe development 6f an all-hazardmitigation plan; and <br />WHEREAS, tht Act as pad ofthe planning process regUires public involvemenratid local.coordinadon among neighl Q.ring local <br />Emits ofgovernment and businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, the plait must include.a mitigation strategy inchtding.goals and objectives and:an actiort-pian identifying specific, <br />mitigation projects and costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the -plan must .include an implementation and maintenance process.includingplan updates, integration ofthe:plan <br />into other pifirining.documents and how the:County will. maintain public participation and coordination;. and <br />WHEREAS., Ramsey County. Division. of Emergency Management. and Homeland Security has indicated a willingness to <br />coordinate these efforts should a municipality so desire; and <br />WHEREAS, the draft plan will*be sharod.With-all*munidpalities, the County Board ofCommissioners and the StaterofMinnesota <br />C)epartmento.fPub] icSafety, Division 6fRomeland.Seeurity. -and Emergency.Mahagernentforcoordinationofstateagencyrevievv <br />and comment ort 1h4-draft; and* <br />Wl•ICRLAS, filial approval oftlie fill-haxard.litigationplan will make the municipalities and the County elivible to receive Hazard <br />Miti+�ation Grant Program.(HMGI').proj t. grants; and <br />WHEREAS, this -resolution does not preclude.ihe.City of Gene lake from preparing it.`s.own plan.in the iiiture.should i desire <br />to-do so.; noxv. therefore; be. it <br />RESOLVED. that --the City Council ofthe City of Gern `Lake supports the county wide all-..hazardmitigation planning effort; and <br />lie it further <br />RESOLVED that the City ofGem Lake wisites.to.join. with Ramsey County in preparing and maintainiDgthe plan and ro ogniies <br />that the final plan will apply within the City of.Gem Lake;.and be it further <br />RrSOLVED that the City.ofiGetn Lake:requests that the.
