MEMORANDUM TO: Planning Commission and City Council FROM: Jim Arend - Zoning and Building 11 RE: Application to Build Second Detached Building in Excess of 1000 Sq. Ft. DATE: May 15, 1995 The applicant desires to build a 26 ft. X 36 ft. detached garage for storage of snowmobiles, trailers and R.Ws. There is a detached garage, 616 sq. ft. already existing on the property, therefore, they will be exceeding the 1,000 sq. ft. allowance for detached buildings on the property. The owner also would like to place the second garage in the front yard. Because of the size of the lot, in excess of 43,000 sq. ft.; the area of the front yard and proposed setbacks of the new building, I would recommend approval of this request. At this time the owner is planting 105 Lilac bushes along the front property line and has many mature trees and evergreens growing in the front yard to help screen this building from adjoining properties. He is also in the process of purchasing some additional property from his neighbor, Larry Kuehn. He will be making an application for a minor subdivision soon. I would recommend approval of this request.
