GARDNER <br />1399 EAST COUNTY ROAD E <br />GEM LAKE, MINNESOTA 55110 <br />June 30, 1993 <br />Mr. Paul Emeott <br />3960 Scheuneman Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110 <br />Dear Paul: <br />The Gem Lake Planning Commission met Thursday, June 24, 1993 at <br />5:00 p.m. at Tousley Ford. Present were Gardner, Bemis, & Leider. <br />Dick Hiniker had requested the meeting to discuss the <br />landscaping agreement, and the positioning of the new entrance <br />sign. Both Tom Bennett and Ron Glassman, owners, were also <br />present. <br />Tousley wishes to postpone completion of part of the landscaping <br />project as they are currently moving toward a final plan for the <br />new property. The Commission agreed to defer completion of the <br />landscaping in front of the pole barn, and to allow the temporary <br />sales office to remain in place, until August 24th, at which time <br />Tousley will have a definitive plan for the property. Tousley also <br />submitted a different design concept for the planters to surround <br />the light posts. The Commission agreed to revise the landscaping <br />agreement to include this new design, and to limit the number of <br />planters required to the poles along County Road E which are <br />visible from the street. Also, Tousley agreed to plant 7 <br />additional trees in the boulevard. The planting is otherwise <br />substantially complete, except for sod. <br />The entrance sign will be located in the median strip in the new <br />entrance way. Tousley may apply for a variance to allow the sign <br />to extend to within 18 1/2 feet of the curb, but if not, the sign <br />must not extend beyond 27 1/2 feet (approx) from the curb; the <br />difference being the approximate 9 feet of road right-of-way being <br />used for the 20' setback. <br />Respectful submitted, <br />David Gardner, Chairman <br />Gem/Lake Planning Commission <br />cc: Planning Commission <br />Magnuson <br />Noble <br />Hiniker <br />
