CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />RESOLUTION NO. .94-1.3 <br />.1:9 September .1994 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake contracts with the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's Department for Law Enforcement Services in the City; and. <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has requested an amend -rent to said contract <br />allowing- the purchase of alternative insurance for the contract <br />cities through the Minnesota County Insurance Trust via a Joint <br />Powers Agreement with a term of three (3) years; and <br />WHEREAS, said amendment will significantly reduce insurance costs <br />for law enforcement provided to the contract cities; and <br />WHEREAS said reduction in costs is consistent with the City of <br />Gem Lake guidelines for providing all government services to the <br />Community at the lowest possible cost and, therefore, is in the. <br />best interest of the business and residential citizens of Gem Lake; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council did on 08 August 1994 adopt Resolution <br />No. 94-09 providing for an execution of an Amendment To Contract o.n <br />behalf of the Citizens of Gem Lake allowing Ramsey County on behalf <br />of Gem Lake to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the <br />Minnesota County Insurance Trust. <br />NOW THEREFORE EE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />Ci ty of Gem Lake does hereby empower the Mayor and City Clerk to. <br />execute a First Amendment To Agreement For Law Enforcement Services <br />attached hereto. <br />Resolution No. 94 -1.3 isoffered by Councilinember McPhillips and <br />supported by Councilrnember Igo is unanimously adopted on the date <br />first written by the following vote: <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
