Messrs Lindner, Wippich and Hoeschler were present along with Messrs Emeott and Magnuson acting as co -zoning administrators, Mr. McNulty, his counsel and court reporter, and a significant number of citizens were also present. The items discussed and actions taken were as follows: 1. Introduction of Mark Nolan, architect and planner with SEH who will be assisting us as we review and update our comprehensive plan. 2. Petition of Mike and Ann Strommen of 3910 Scliueneman Road for a sideline setback variance of 9 feet for a 24' x 24' garage. The variance request is from the 15-foot sideline setback. The request is founded on a desire to line the new garage up with an existing 24' x 24' garage (which is deemed by the zoning administrators to be attached to the existing structure because it is joined by a deck and less than 6 feet from the house). Messrs Magnuson and Emeott recommended approval because the new garage lined up with the old one and was therefore hidden from view from the street. The neighbor most directly affected did not appear and apparently does not object. Mr. Hoeschler asked questions about the size of accessory buildings (it was stated that a variance from the 1000 SF requirement was not required because the existing garage was attached and therefore not accessory), and the hardship involved (it was stated that the placement was required by the location of the existing drain field). Mr. Lindner moved to recommend approval and Mr. Wippich seconded that motion. They both voted in favor of the motion and Mr. Hoeschler voted against expressing concern about the hardship issue but stating that he was also favorably influenced by the fact that the neighbors did not object. The motion to recommend therefore passed 2-1. 3. Shirley CUP request for 1400 Goose Lake Road for review and approval of a walkout elevation of 44 feet. Mr. Magnuson reported that the Shirleys had agreed to allow their plans to be considered under the new site review process that we are in the process of adopting as a result of negotiations with Mr. McNulty. Plans prepared by Chris Doehrmann, Architect were displayed and discussed. The plans consisted of a site plan, floor plans for each of two levels and elevations from four directions. Mr. Magnuson reported that the site review committee of Messrs Emeott and Rafferty had reviewed the plans and recommended review. The big issue was the 44-foot height along a portion of the NE fagade that is required in order to allow the Shirley's motor home to be garaged below the first floor of the house. Mr. Shirley and Mr. Doehrmann explained that the entry to the motor home garage was oriented away from neighboring houses, mitigated
