Mark Nolan will meet with the city attorney to come up with wording for this ordinance. Upcoming Public Hearings With all these proposed changes to the zoning ordinance, there will be mandatory public hearings. By our September meeting (a joint Planning Commission/City Council workshop), we should have draft language for all of these ordinances that will then be ready for public review and comment. Actual public hearings will be determined at the September meeting. City Hall Project Craig Rafferty discussed his work thus far on the City hall joint project with White Bear Township. He presented tentative schedules and discussed how this project could unfold, and how it could grow into something bigger than currently envisioned. Clearly this is an exciting time for Gem Lake/ White Bear Township relations. Schwinn Property Paul introduced the topic that Aaron Schwinn may seek to subdivide part of his six acres currently within the Hunter's Run subdivision. There are some nuances with other properties that Paul identified as a rudimentary PUD enacted by the city many years ago. Craig offered we may be able to work with Hartford as they develop the Hansen parcels to get road access to any possible subdivided lots. Hoeschler/Robins resolution Jim Lindner offered a motion (seconded by Rafferty) that the planning commission recommend the City Council find a way to formally thank Jack Hoeschler and Kathy Robins for their years of service on the planning commission. 1 This would serve as a means of repairing some of the sentiments regarding the departure of these two from the planning commission. Motion passed unanimously. Planning Commission Paul introduced to the commission an idea that the Planning Commission be formally limited to three active and two alternate members. A quorum would be two. Alternates would be called to vote in the absence of one or more members. We agreed this was a viable solution to our membership issue.
