Sheriff Contract Group Minutes <br />October 20, 1994 <br />We should hear more with regard to the status of the Police <br />Hiring Supplement Grant in February. <br />PLANNING. SESSION <br />Bill Ecklund informed the Group that he is not seeking re- <br />election as Mayor of North Oaks, and therefore may not be <br />representing their city with the Contract Group after the <br />election. The members encouraged him continue with the Group in <br />a liaison capacity. He explained that he would apply to the <br />City Council for this appointment after the election. <br />The Group discussed the concept of hiring two Community Service <br />Officers rather than one additional deputy in 1996. Bergeron <br />agreed that the Group should phase in CSO's, but favored hiring <br />an additional officer. <br />Commander Bergeron was asked to put together a survey for the <br />Deputies and staff to obtain their list of priorities. The Group <br />stressed the importance ❑f their opinions. <br />❑THER MATTERS. <br />Bergeron encouraged each community to adopt the uniform curfew <br />ordinance. <br />Bergeron reminded the Group of the Community. Policing Conference <br />to be held on October 27, 28 & 29, 1994 in St..
