MINUTES OF MEETING:OF CITY COUNCIL <br />OF CITY ❑F GEM LAKE <br />The May Meeting of the City Council of the City of Gem Lake was <br />calked to order on Monday, 16 May 1994, at 7:04 p.m. in the first floor <br />meeting room of Tousley Ford. Mayor Emeott, Councilmembers Nielsen and <br />Birkebak, Clerk Magnuson, and Treasurer Nordstrom were present. <br />The minutes of the 18 April 1994 City Council Meeting were, upon <br />motion duly made and seconded, unanimously approved with amendments.. <br />Discussion then followed regarding the ownership of the "abandoned <br />roadway" at the intersection of ❑tter Lake, Hoffman and Scheuneman roads. <br />with no action taken. <br />The Clerk then noted that the City Attorney is working on comple- <br />tion of the Joint Powers Agreement with Vadnais Heights for Tousley Ford <br />water supply. The Mayor noted that renewed interest has been expressed <br />in developing a City Water proposal for the commercial corner of Geri <br />Lake. A copy in the form of a letter from the City Attorney is attached <br />as Exhibit "A". <br />Mayor Emeott then indicated that there has been no meeting of the. <br />Gem Lake Planning. Commission, <br />Mayor Emeott then noted that a joint meeting of the Gem Lake and <br />Vadnais Heights Planning Commission will be held in late May or early <br />June. <br />A meeting of the I-35E Corridor Study Committee is scheduled for 17 <br />May with results to be published at the meeting. <br />A City Roster and the additional Recycling Mailing need to be <br />printed and delivered. <br />The Clerk then reported on the: Smart. Cart arid traffic deputy. The <br />new traffic deputy is Ken Splitsasser. Discussion of the need for patrol <br />was discussed and the Clerk noted that we may, at any time, request sped <br />patrol. <br />The Clerk then noted that a letter to Gem Lake businesses has been <br />prepared and will be sent to all Gem Lake businesses regarding Fire <br />Inspections. A copy of the letter, attached hereto as Exhibit "B", was <br />sent to Tim Vadnais at the White. Bear Lake Fire Department. <br />Discussion then followed regarding the additional signs added t❑ <br />Goose Lake Road near the west end. It was reported that since signs had <br />been placed, another accident took place damaging the signs and the <br />McMahon property. A letter to Ramsey County Public Works identifying the <br />problem was ordered. <br />The Clerk reported that T.A. Schifsky is preparing an estimate for <br />repairs andongoing street maintenance. Said reports should beavailable <br />for the June meeting. <br />1 <br />
