City Council Meeting Closed Session
April 16, 2024
Meeting Minutes
Mayor Gretchen Artig-Swomley called the meeting to order at 8:17 p.m. Councilmembers Len Cacioppo, Jim
Lindner, Ben Johnson, and Laurel Amlee were present. Also present: City Attorney Kevin Beck and Acting City
Clerk Melissa Lawrence.
Closed Meeting Discussion - Performance Review / Pay Discussion Acting City Clerk
Mayor Artig-Swomley explained that the Council will go into a closed session to discuss the Acting City Clerkâs
annual performance evaluation. A summary will be provided at the next open meeting on May 21, 2024.
Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to close the public meeting and begin the closed session at 8:17 p.m.
Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to approve a roughly 7.77% ($2.50) increase based on a recent
professional salary study and completion of year 1 of Minnesota Municipal Clerks Academy, seconded by
Councilmember Johnson. Voice vote taken, all in favor, motion carried.
Councilmember Lindner introduced a motion to end the closed session and reopen the public meeting at 8:44 p.m.
Adjournment
Being there no further business, following a motion from Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember
Cacioppo, the meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
