City of Gem Lake
City Council Meeting – July 19, 2016
Meeting Minutes
Mayor Uzpen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers Artig-Swomley, Lindner and
Kuny were present. Others in attendance: Jerry Briggs, Larry Desrosier, and Lori Kirchhamer, Ron Leaf,
S.E.H., Bill and Joan Mample.
July 19, 2016, Agenda
A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley to approve
the agenda for July 19, 2016, motion passed. Agenda approved.
Minutes
Councilmember Artig-Swomley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve the
minutes for the Special June 3, 2016, City Council meeting, motion passed. Minutes approved.
Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve the minutes for June
21, 2016, City Council meeting. One change, page 2, open items, accessed changed to assessed.
Minutes approved with change, motion passed.
Committee Reports
None.
Old Business
Newsletter ideas – no newsletter till August. Discussion postponed to the August 23, 2016, City Council
meeting.
Public Hearing
None
New Business
Flag Raising
The council moved to the parking lot for the flag raising ceremony. Members of the V.F.W. Jerry Briggs,
Larry Desrosier, Bill and Joan Mample proceeded with raising the flag. Mayor Uzpen thanked everyone
for their role in the acquisition and the V. F. W. for their participation. The meeting then moved back to
the council chambers.
M.S.4 Presentation
Ron Leaf, S.E.H. updated the council on their work so far on the M.S.4. 2015 report has been submitted,
public hearing will be scheduled for the September City Council meeting. A request for public comments
article will be the next issue of Gem Lake News.
Claims for July, 2016
A motion was made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley to
approve the claims for July, 2016. Motion passed.

Monthly Financial Reports
Approved. Noted that the City of Gem Lake has received their first tax payment.

Open Items for Councilmembers to bring up
August 8, 2016, workshop was cancelled.
Next Meetings
City of Gem Lake Workshop, Monday, August 8, 7:00 p.m. – cancelled
Next City Council meeting, Tuesday, August 23rd, 7:00 p.m.
Adjournment
Being there no further business, following a motion by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by
Councilmember Artig-Swomley, the meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
